2016 ChardonnaySonoma Coast Single Vineyard

Reuling Vineyard  planted in 2000, this Montrachet clone vineyard benefits from cool marine influences converging from the coast yet with its west facing slope is exposed to and retains the sun for just enough time. The sandy Goldridge soils are ideally suited for this varietal, naturally stressing the vines which results in low yields and concentrated flavors.

Dalecio Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

2016 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast Single Vineyard

The 2016 Chardonnay comes from the Reuling Vineyard on Sonoma Coast and is entirely Montrachet clone. It gives lovely white grapefruit, white peaches and lemon curd notes with touches of croissant, marzipan, lime blossom and beeswax. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers lovely richness, weight and texture with a zippy line of freshness carrying the honeyed stone fruit and citrus flavors to a good long finish. 110 cases produced.

2016 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast Single Vineyard

Both the Dalecio releases are made with help of consultant Philippe Melka and come from the Reuling Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. Starting with the 2016 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast, it’s a brilliant effort that has a rich, powerful feel yet stays incredibly pure, crystalline, and vibrant at the same time. Notes of white flowers, white currants, salt block and background oak all show on the nose. This is up with some of the top Chardonnays in the vintage and will keep for at least 7 – 8 years.

Tasting Notes

Delightfully light golden in color, this Chardonnay produced from the Reuling Vineyard has a highly expressive nose with notes of beeswax, grapefruit, marzipan and brioche.  Medium to full bodied, it offers a beautiful texture and richness with vibrant acidity and length. Well-integrated oak profile with a touch of vanilla and lemon tart, hint of saltiness, pronounced acidity and minerality cuts through the finish and leaves you with layers of citrus, lemony flavors.
